Choose the Light

Then I saw that there is more gain in wisdom than in folly, as there is more gain in light than in darkness. (Ecclesiastes 2:13)
In a world overflowing with information and noise, it’s easy to forget that not all paths lead to understanding. Ecclesiastes reminds us of a simple but profound truth: wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness.

Light brings clarity, reveals beauty, and shows us the way forward. It comforts and warms. Wisdom does the same for our souls—it aligns us with God’s truth, helps us discern right from wrong, and keeps our feet from stumbling.
Folly might appear fun or even harmless, but it blinds us to the deeper purpose God has for us. Like wandering in the dark, we can trip and lose our way. Choosing wisdom isn’t always the easiest path, but it is the most rewarding—it means walking in the light of Christ.
Today, let’s ask God for wisdom—not just to know more, but to live with purpose. And may we reflect His light in every word, decision, and act of kindness.
Prayer: Lord, fill my heart with Your wisdom. Please help me choose light over darkness in every moment. Let your truth guide me, and may my life reflect your glory. Amen.
