Mercy Woke Me

Last night was not kind. Night terrors stitched fear into the silence I hoped would soothe me. Sleep, once a shelter, became a battlefield.
But today— I woke. Not because of strength, but because of grace.
"I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me." – Psalm 3:5
There is mercy in the morning. Even when dreams betray us, His love does not. Today I choose to breathe slowly, speak softly, and rest in the truth: I am not forgotten. I am not a burden. I am held, fiercely and tenderly, by the One who never sleeps.
Morning Prayer for the Weary
Lord, Last night brought shadows I couldn’t outrun. Rest escaped me, and fear took its place. But still—I woke. Not by strength, but by mercy. So today I ask for softness. Soft words, soft steps, soft grace. Hold my heart as I hold space for healing. Let Your presence wraps around the ache and remind me: Even sleepless nights have no power over Your love.
In Jesus' Name, Amen
