God Sent a Sparrow

Image
For weeks, the birds were silent. No chirps in the bushes, no wings overhead. I missed them — not just their songs, but the way they reminded me of my granny, of simpler days, of God’s nearness in nature.   I prayed. Not a grand prayer, just a quiet request: Lord, bring back my bird friends.   And then one came. Just one. A little visitor perched on the rail outside my window, turning his head as if to say hello. He didn’t stay long, but he returned. He chirped. He listened. He flew to the feeder. And in that moment, I knew — God had heard me.   It wasn’t a flock. It wasn’t dramatic. But it was enough. A single bird, sent in love, to remind me that I’m seen. That even in loss or loneliness, God fills the silence with something living. Something gentle. Something that feels like home.   Maybe Granny picked that bird. Maybe God whispered, She needs a reminder today. Either way, I cherish it. Because it’s the simple things — the ones that feel sma...

Embrace God's Presence

In the depths of the earth, where minerals rest, God slumbers peacefully, in a peaceful nest. For deep within the soil, His presence is found, His mighty essence, unyielding and profound. With the dawn of each day, He awakens anew, In the vibrant, verdant plants, His love shines through. From the tender shoots, to the towering trees, He breathes life into nature, with gentle ease. But it is in the heart of man, that God truly resides, For in our thoughts and actions, His presence abides. With the power to reason, to create and to dream, We are vessels of His love, or so it would seem. In our kindness an...

A Better Path

The story of Barabbas and Jesus has been on my mind. Not because of religion, but because of what it reveals about human nature.   In that moment, the crowd chose a man known for violence over a man known for healing. Not because they were monsters — but because fear, anger, and pressure can make us cheer for things that ultimately harm us.   I look around today and see a similar pattern. We often celebrate what’s loud instead of what’s good. We defend what’s destructive because it feels familiar. We overlook what brings life because it challenges us to change.   This isn’t about judging anyone. It’s simply a reminder that every day we’re choosing who and what we “release” into our lives — the things that pull us toward chaos, or the things that lead us toward hope.   Hope is still an option. Healing is still an option. A better path is still an option.   And for anyone wondering where that path begins: “I am the way, the truth, and ...
